“Safar” is more than just a song; it’s a shared journey. Silly Strangers reached out to
Himanshu Pandey, an emerging voice from Ranchi, on September 11 to collaborate on this
unique track. In a series of firsts, the label arranged for Himanshu’s travel to
Hyderabad—marking his first time flying, a real-life experience that mirrors the song’s theme
of growth and discovery. Recorded on October 20, this momentous collaboration exemplifies
the spirit of Silly Strangers, a label dedicated to celebrating the artistry and stories of India’s
rising talents.
“Life’s journey is about moments of transformation, and we wanted to bring that into sound
and lyrics,” says Chahat, one of the song’s co-producers. “Collaborating with Himanshu on
his first-ever single was special for us all.”
The Making of “Safar”
Crafted by the passionate team at Silly Strangers, “Safar” is both poetic and powerful,
blending modern production techniques with an organic, soulful aesthetic. The song features
production by the label’s in-house team, including Chahat and Diganta, highly accomplished
producer with international acclaim. Known for his work with global clients like Apple, Disney,
Slack, and more, Diganta’s expertise lent a world-class quality to the track whose intricate
arrangements support Himanshu’s resonant voice.
The track was engineered by Aditya Verma, a skilled alumnus of Annapurna College of Film
and Media, who captured the emotional depth that characterizes “Safar.” The song’s
production is a seamless blend of modern and organic sounds, capturing the feeling of
looking back on one’s journey with wisdom and reflection.
Capturing the Vision: A Journey Visualized
The official music video, directed by the talented Trishi, alumni of NIFT Hyderabad, shot by
cinematographer Nitin from Annapurna College of Film and Media, takes viewers on a visual
journey that mirrors the song’s lyrical exploration. Trishi’s direction beautifully captures the
themes of anticipation, wonder, and self-discovery, blending Hyderabad’s urban landscapes
with stunning natural scenery. Richa, Silly Strangers’ A&R lead, oversaw the project’s vision,
helping bring the collaboration to life while staying true to its message of embracing change.
